The Rotax Nordic Challenge 2026 came to an end on the final weekend of August at 333 Baltic Circuit in Latvia.

KartletiX creator Ragnar Veerus secured the DD2 title after two near misses in 2024 and 2025, winning two of the three finals in the deciding round. It was his fourth Nordic Championship title, and his first since 2022.

A hard weekend from the beginning

Veerus came into Round 4 after finishing P2 and taking victory in the first two rounds of the season. But after struggling with a bad racing set in the penultimate round, the same problem returned in Latvia.

“We effortlessly went fastest of the day in the last practice by completing a single flying lap. Then, without any changes, we were six tenths slower on the first flying lap and three tenths slower than before at best. We knew this was going to be a hard race from the beginning.”

With very little room for mistakes, Veerus qualified P3 at the end of Friday.

No room to wait

For Saturday’s heats and finals, the focus was clear: the start had to be decisive.

“I knew I had to take every chance. So I didn’t take no for an answer at Turn 2.”

Ragnar grabbed an early lead in both Final 1 and Final 2. From there, the job was not simple. He was constantly under attack, but held on to win both races.

Those victories were crucial. The final round carried a points multiplier, meaning the championship could still swing hard if anything went wrong.

Winning with a bad set

The pace was not comfortable, and the races had to be managed with risk.

“I gave everything on track, and we took big risks to work with the bad set the best we could.”

The risks paid off in the first two finals, but they also destroyed the tyres for the Superfinal, where Veerus finished P6.

Getting the maximum out of a bad set is not luck. It is a skill – and it is exactly the kind of problem-solving covered inside the KartletiX programs. There is also an option for this inside Tyre Pressure Tool PLUS.

Back on top

With the result, Veerus secured his fourth Nordic Champion title after previous wins in 2019, 2020 and 2022.

After coming painfully close in the two previous seasons, including missing out in 2025 on equal points, the 2026 title finally brought the championship back to KartletiX.

KartletiX is now 4-time Nordic Champion.
