Lithuanian Karting Championships continued in winning form for KartletiX coach Ragnar Veerus in Kuršėnai.

Ragnar set fastest time in qualifying practice, beating Andrius Zinkevicius and title rival Maxim Schurko for pole.

Heats were held in mixed conditions. First time out on wet wasn’t too great, adding confused tyre pressure and gearing choices. Ragnar finished P5. Next heat was held in dry and the pace as in quali was there right away, grabbing P1.

Ragnar stared final from P2, held it around the outside and went for the lead in turn 2. An initial gap with the chasing pack was soon closed down by Schurko. The battle for P1 was in full swing for a few laps. After retaking the lead, Ragnar neatly defended for a few laps while the duo kept pulling away from the pack. Over the halfway point of the race, Veerus got the tyres to optimal temperatures and pulled out of reach.

A win from Schurko and Zinkevicius extended Ragnar’s gap in the points. Next round of Lithuanian Championships will be held at the end of August in 333 Baltic Circuit.
