KartletiX Cup in Aravete brought together 146 drivers from 5 different nationalities, featuring world level competitors.

Aravete track hosted the inaugural KartletiX Cup as the first event of Estonian Karting Championships 2023 season. Micro 60, Mini 60 & Rotax Senior hosted more than 20 drivers on the grid, with most of the starts being held with at least 15 kart fields. The freezing conditions put a huge challenge on drivers shoulders to cope with tyre temperatures & setups, causing chaos and action in all starts.

The fields were packed with talented and famous drivers, most notably SKUSA SuperNationals podium finisher Markus Kajak in KZ2, 2023 Rotax Wintercup winner Patricks Noels Locmelis in DD2, Rotax Grand Finals winner Nikita Ljubimov in Mini and Rotax Euro Trophy podium finishers Toms Strele in Rotax Junior & Ragnar Veerus in DD2.

Fierce Battles for Victory

A fierce duel was held in Mini 60 final by Nikita Ljubimov and Albert Tamm. The duo finished side by side over the line on the last lap, gifting a victory to Ljubimov by just 0.079 seconds.

Same happened later in DD2 final, when the hard charging KartletiX coach Ragnar Veerus was making a comeback from 2.6 seconds behind the leader in P6 to finish side by side with young gun Edgars Vilcans for the win. On the line, the two were seperated on the line by just 0.071 seconds.

OK final had a dramatic turn of events when the two leaders, Robin Särg and Roland Kuklane, collided. This handed a win to Särg with Kuklane being later disqualified for cutting the track after the incident.

The Dominant Forces

Cadet class witnessed a brilliant victory by Mailiis Vainumets, first girl to win in the smallest class for years. Despite finishing second in Final 1, she took a dominant win by nearly 10 seconds over the field in Final 2.

Many classes saw a dominant display by one driver. Remi Rubin in Micro 60, Nikita Ljubimov in Rotax Minimax, Hugo Rajamets in OK Junior, Toms Strele in Rotax Junior, Paul Hamburg in Rotax Senior, Priit Sei in Rotax DD2 Masters and Markus Kajak in KZ2 were unchallenged for victory throughout the weekend.

Thanks to all people for celebrating this race weekend and bringing the action on track. KartletiX Cup in Aravete showcased great racing, despite the very challenging weather conditions.
