KartletiX coach Ragnar Veerus completed his road to Bahrain for Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals 2023 from December 2-9 by winning Lithuanian Championships.
Ragnar qualified for the Grand Finals for the 7th time, heading to Bahrain again after 2021. He showed outright pace in qualifying on Friday to score a P2 and grab 2 extra points for thw championship to seal the title ahead of the race of the final round in Jelgava, Latvia.
“We knew our objective through all the practices and probably focused our efforts more on qualifying than we usually have,” the newly crowned champion exclaimed.
For a driver that has been visiting the Grand Finals since 2017, Ragnar sees it as a new opportunity each and every year.
“It’s a racing festival with great drivers, friends, organisation and tremendous atmosphere. I’m always happy to go back. But it always proposes a great challenge and that’s what we’re here to tackle – to become the best among the best.”
Ragnar, whose greatest result in the Grand Finals originates from Bahrain two years ago when he scored P13 in the final, is looking, always looking to improve on his previous attempts. “Whenever I’m on the grid I try to be better, quicker, smarter and more determined than ever. Of course, there are smaller objectives along the way, but the end goal is always to improve, even after 16 years of karting.”
