Rotax Junior driver and KartletiX student Kyle Christon Tuhkru scored his first ever victory last weekend in LaitseRallyPark at the last round of Estonian Championships. KartletiX coach Ragnar Veerus also stood on the second step of the podium in DD2.

Kyle Christon Tuhkru Scores His First Ever Victory

Kyle Christon Tuhkru dominated Rotax Junior class in soaking conditions. After a disqualification on technical matters in qualifying practice, Kyle had to start from the back of the grid for Final 1. A brilliant drive from last to first by the youngster brought him his first race win. Final 2 was already a dominant display being over half a second faster than anyone else on the track and finishing nearly 10 seconds clear of the field. After many ups and downs this year, Kyle finally scored his first podium and victory just weeks after his brilliant drive from the back of the grid in Rotax Nordic Challenge. Maximum points awarded him P4 in the overall standings. Dedicated KartletiX student made a public social media post to thank everyone involved, including coach Ragnar Veerus. Best of luck to Kyle for his Rotax Euro Trophy debut this week in PFI.

Ragnar Veerus on Podium

KartletiX coach Ragnar Veerus took P2 in the very changing conditions of Final 2. Weather drastically changed from Final 1 monsoon to a a slowly drying track for the last race. Ragnar proved his pace from the beginning after dropping to P5 from the start from P4 on the grid. He fought hard by climbing up through the field and battling it out with his Latvian collegues for the podium positions to take P3 on the line, fiercely catching P2 in the closing stages of the race. Ragnar was awarded P2 after post-race penalties, which helped him secure P3 in DD2 overall standings. The former champion accepted defeat for the first time on home soil since 2017, but claims to be happy with the result, considering the super high level of competition and misfortune in the previous 3 races.
