LaitseRallyPark has finalised its new construction to host their first ever karting event, round 5 of Estonian Championships 2023. New tracks are there to spice up the competition and provide everyone an equal proving ground. So let’s give KartletiX followers some insight about what’s the new Laitse Karting Circuit like.

CHARACTERISTIC

The new track is 1300m in length, which makes it the longest in Estonia. Sub-minute laptimes in the dry display how much is happening within one lap. The track is fairly fast and flowing with some really slow and technical sections. It’s tricky on braking zones, having to turn and change direction during an entry to some of the chicanes. The track isn’t short on elevation either with a hill, a steep drop, uphill and downhill braking zones, negative and positive camber corners.

The kerbs are reasonably high and are better to be avoided at most places. That makes it very important to place the kart inch perfectly because with the 15 corners around the circuit, any added metres will increase laptime. So far, anything off the racing line has been very slippery, therefore, staying on the line is vital and any mistakes are very costly.

LAYOUT

Laitse track provides a variety of possible layouts with the chosen one pictured above. For a faster flow of the track, the Teemu Suninen layout will be used instead of Hermann Tilke’s, whose company’s project this new circuit is.

SPEED

The flowing nature of the track makes it fast and physical for the drivers. The speeds and predictably high grip levels will start dragging bodies at high G-forces and the initially slippery track will become very harsh on the drivers. That’s why I suggest to collect laps and build up some stamina before going for the race there.

So what’s the new Laitse Karting Circuit like? It’s fast, interesting, technical and physical – combining many of the components to be a great racing track. Let’s wait and see if it’s up for the ultimate test.
