Ragnar Veerus of KartletiX raced in Lithuanian Karting Championships last weekend and showed strong performance by taking a podium. Despite having shown great speed throughout the practices, Ragnar missed out on pole position and was forced to start each race from P2. Starting on the outside row forced our coach to fight his way through slower drivers to climb back to his position, which allowed championship contender Maxim Schurko to open up a gap. Veerus set fastest laps in each race but missed out on Schurko regardless.
“It was an interesting weekend. We misinterpreted the conditions for quali which led to compromised starting position and therefore we couldn’t even challenge Maxim this time out,” Veerus commented. “Next time we will be back smarter and stronger.”
Veerus still holds the championship lead over Schurko. The fastest driver of the weekend plans to reveal his driving secrets on Aukštadvaris Karting Circuit soon. Next Lithuanian Championship race will be held at the end of July.
