Kunigamäe Karting Circuit in Põltsamaa, Estonia, has just been resurfaced and KartletiX is sharing their 3 main tips for getting up to speed.
1. DRIVE SHORTER THAN BEFORE
Opt for tighter lines because the track surface is grippy and wide lines don’t help us carry more speed anymore. The friction between the track and the tyres is so good that tighter lines will cut your distance shorter and still maintain high cornering speeds.
2. THERE’S ONLY 1 KERB ON THE TRACK YOU SHOULD USE
Despite some fine adjustments to the kerbing, it is faster to drive along the track. The wide outside kerbs can save you a centimetre or two when you’ve dropped off line, but they’re not directly on the racing line. There’s only one singular flat inside kerb to hit in the middle of the track out of turn 5.
3. USE STANDARD LOW PRESSURES
The slippery days of the track are over. It has a high grip surface on normal pressures. All the stories of very high pressures from last year are left in the past
To learn more about the track, KartletiX has a detailed track guide up for grabs. We’ll be discussing kerbs, lines, braking points and much, much more. Come to Põltsamaa with confidence after studying the track at home!
